Dr. Soares grew up on a small farm in Michigan where she enjoyed Barrel Racing as a youth.  She attended Michigan State University and graduated from vet school in 1994.  After graduation, she practiced both equine and small animal medicine in Michigan for a few years then moved to Florida to do the same.  Dr. Soares has been enjoying the moderate climate of North Carolina since 2007.  Her passion is in eastern medicine, nutrition and GI problems.  Currently she lives with her husband, one dog, and one very mischievous cat.
